tribal tattoos?
im doing a research project on the history of tattoos. i need to know what they used for ink back in the tribal tattoos (like the samoan, maori ect.) can anyone help me?

- You should really go to the library to get info on it. There are numerous books you can research on.
- okay, roughly, back then tribes used to practically cut the designs into the skin...obviously there was tones of blood pouring out so they had to rub it with ashes or leaves afterwards, and maybe put on some kind of a bandage on it... later, some tribes started making different kinds of ink, so they just rubbed that on the skin, after cutting it... and then in Japan they used to put the ink they made into something that worked like a needle and inject it into their skin, they still do that at some tat shops
